Please read these terms carefully before using this free online tool (hereinafter "Application") provided by VRANA GmbH. By using this Application, you express your agreement to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

1. Provided Free of Charge ("As-Is" Clause)

This Application is provided by VRANA GmbH free of charge and purely for informational and demonstration purposes. The provision is made on an "as-is" basis, without any express or implied warranty or guarantee of any kind regarding its functionality, accuracy, completeness, reliability, or merchantability.

2. No Substitute for Certified Systems and Inspection Procedures

The structural analyses, validation reports, header dumps, image renderings, and waveform visualizations generated by this Application are not certified or approved for use in productive, safety-critical, non-destructive evaluation (NDE / ZfP) procedures in industrial environments.

• The Application never replaces manual or automated testing performed by qualified personnel certified according to ISO 9712 (or comparable international standards).
• The Application must not be used as the sole basis for decision-making regarding the release, evaluation, or scrap declaration of physical components, weld seams, or other industrial assets.

3. Precedence of Official Standards (ASTM / DICOM)

Although the Application attempts to map DICONDE rulesets according to ASTM E2339 (and subsequent standards) as well as medical DICOM standards, no liability is assumed for the exact conformity of the validation rules. In case of doubt or discrepancy, the official text of the respective ASTM or NEMA standard sheets is exclusively applicable and binding.

4. Limitation of Liability

Since the Application is provided completely free of charge, any liability of VRANA GmbH, its legal representatives, and vicarious agents for material and legal defects of the Application (in particular accuracy, freedom from errors, absence of third-party property rights and copyrights, completeness, and/or usability) is entirely excluded, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

VRANA GmbH shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of the Application, misinterpretation of validation reports, or the incorrect display of NDE measurement data (e.g., overlooking defects, cracks, pores, or incomplete header data).

5. Data Security & Copyright

All uploaded DICOM or DICONDE files are processed exclusively locally within the user's web browser. No permanent storage or transmission of binary data to servers of VRANA GmbH takes place. The design of the Application and the underlying compiled rulesets are protected by copyright.

6. Third-Party Intellectual Property & Open Source Software

The core medical DICOM validation rules and dictionary datasets used within this Application are based on the open-source parsed DICOM Standard JSON files provided by Innolitics, LLC (available via GitHub at innolitics/dicom-standard). These files are utilized under the terms of the MIT License.

Furthermore, this Application utilizes dicomParser, an open-source JavaScript library developed by Chris Hafey and contributors (distributed under the MIT License), to parse binary DICOM/DICONDE files locally within the browser.

For native client-side decompression of JPEG Lossless frame buffers, this Application incorporates JPEGLosslessDecoderJS (developed by RII-UTHSCSA and contributors, available via GitHub at rii-mango/JPEGLosslessDecoderJS), distributed under the terms of the MIT License.

The official DICOM® Standard is copyright owned by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). The DICONDE standards (including but not limited to ASTM E2339) and related technical specifications are the copyrighted intellectual property of ASTM International.

VRANA GmbH is an independent entity and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ASTM International, NEMA, Innolitics, or the developers of dicomParser. VRANA GmbH assumes no liability for any software bugs, parsing errors, omissions, or outdated definitions originating from these third-party libraries, data sources, or standards.
